This hotel offers great value for money, with reasonable prices for its quality. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the modern and well-appointed rooms to the warm and friendly staff. The location is ideal, situated in a quiet residential area with an absolutely fantastic view from the deck. Sitting on the hillside overlooking a small river, the view alone is worth the stay. Additionally, the basic amenities are top-notch, with WIFI available throughout the hotel and even a hot tub on the deck for guests to enjoy while taking in the breathtaking scenery. And let's not forget the delicious breakfast with a river view – the perfect start to the day.

What endeared Baystay to us was the very warm welcome and the way in which Nick and Rob were full of good ideas/advice to help us make the best of our 3-day* stay. We also loved their 'baked eggs' at breakfast time (I have since tried to emulate them but my effort was nowhere near as good as theirs!). It is clearly a very professionally-run B&B and we would have no hesitation whatsover in recommending them to other travellers in NZ. * We actually stayed 3 nights, not 2.

Our only slightly adverse comment was that we had no hanging/storage space in our room, but we managed very well nevertheless (it happened to be our first B&B of the trip, so we were not very good at living out of suitcases at that stage!).

Baystay B&B in Paihia exceeded our expectations in multiple ways. the hotel offers terrific value for money, with reasonable prices for the high level of service and attention to detail provided. The view from the deck is simply breathtaking, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the Bay of Islands. The rooms are well-appointed, some even offering hot tubs on the deck with a Ti-Tree view. Additionally, the hotel provides WIFI access throughout, ensuring guests stay connected while enjoying the fabulous view. Lastly, the breakfast served with a river view is a delightful way to start the day, with delicious food and a serene ambiance.

The place was excellently furnished and very clean. The owners were most anxious to ensure that we had every thing we needed and were quite prepared to go out of their way to help.

Welcome from host and wonderful setting

We had a fantastic stay at this bed and breakfast. The hosts, Rob and Nick, were incredibly friendly and provided us with lots of information and ideas for activities to do in the area. They even arranged a fishing trip for us. The hotel's location was superb, offering amazing views from the balcony. The place was modern, clean, and had a lovely friendly atmosphere. We felt right at home and were able to use the whole living area to relax and mingle with other guests. The views from the deck were stunning, and the hotel was conveniently located just 3km away from the bustling town area, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful stay. Additionally, the hot tub was a great bonus.

Absolutely nothing

Situated in a quiet residential area with absolutely fantastic views from the deck, this bed and breakfast is perfectly located to explore the Bay of Islands. the rooms were clean, nicely set out, and equipped with a fridge and computer. the hosts were attentive and went above and beyond, even providing champagne for our anniversary celebration. the guest lounge was cozy, complete with a wood burner and a generous pinball machine. the breakfast was healthy and filling, and they even packed us a meal for our early morning departure.

Lovely quiet position away from the busy main street of Paihia, scenic views were a nice change. Was great to have such a nice breakfast made for us without having to go out early.

Made to feel very welcome by the owners, room was spotless and community room ideal with superb views. Superb continental breakfast set us up for the day.

I recently had a wonderful stay at a charming B&B nestled in a quiet residential area with a truly breathtaking view. This hotel, perched on a hillside overlooking a small river, provided me with a tranquil and picturesque setting that made my stay truly memorable. The rooms, complete with hot tubs on the deck, were cozy and comfortable, offering a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The attention to detail, such as the availability of WiFi throughout the property, further enhanced my experience. I also want to mention the breakfast, which was served with a view of the river, adding to the scenic ambiance of my morning meal.

Everything was simply perfect.

It was quiet, relaxing and you felt totally comfortable in the communal lounge, making a tea or coffee, having a drink and coming and going as you pleased. A great place to just relax.

We were made to feel very welcome and appreciated the local knowledge regarding local walks and destinations. The breakfast was awesome!!

Amazing experience! The warmest hosts ever! Lovely breakfast with a great selection of local produce. Everything was perfectly clean, and they offer a big deck and living room to hang out with coffee and tea all the time. the hosts are amazing; their knowledge of the region lets you go to the best places, and they even offer you their help with things like laundry.

The directions to get to the place could be better marked, and they don't have a parking garage. Finding it could be a bit tricky, but the hosts are incredibly helpful and will guide you through it.

I enjoyed the warm welcome and attention during the stay. Room was clean, bright and comfortable. Good sitting room, lovely balcony overlooking river and nearby falls.

Only complaint was the location of b and b further from main town of Pahia, however we had a car so we managed.
